These terms explain what The Circl offers, what we ask of you, and the limits of the service. Please read them before creating an account.
Accepting these terms
By creating an account you confirm that you accept these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not accept them, please do not create an account or use the service.
We record which published version of each document you accepted, and when.
Who may use The Circl
You may create an account if you meet the minimum age set by The Circl, shown on the sign-up form. You are responsible for the accuracy of the details you give us, including your date of birth.
If you are under 18 you may choose to name a trusted adult we can reach if there is a serious concern about your wellbeing. Naming a trusted adult is optional. It is not parental or guardian consent, it is not verification of legal guardianship, and it does not authorise anyone to act, agree or pay on your behalf.
Open item: the age at which a parent or guardian must formally consent depends on local law and has not been finalised. This section will be updated before that requirement takes effect.
Your account
Keep your password private and do not let anyone else use your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access to it. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
What The Circl is
The Circl offers facilitator-led group support. Facilitators are professionals whose credentials we review before they may work with members.
The Circl is not an emergency or crisis service, and it does not provide medical diagnosis. If you are in immediate danger or experiencing an emergency, contact the appropriate local emergency service.
Open item: the contractual relationship between The Circl and its facilitators is subject to client and legal review.
Taking part in a circle
Group support depends on the people in the room. When you take part, you agree to follow our Safety Guidelines, which cover respectful conduct, the privacy of other members, and recording.
We ask every member to keep what is shared in a circle inside the circle. We cannot control what other members do, and there are situations in which we or a facilitator may need to act on information shared with us.
Things you must not do
- Harass, threaten, abuse or discriminate against anyone.
- Record, screenshot or share any part of a session without authorisation.
- Share another member's identity or story outside the circle.
- Impersonate another person, or present false professional credentials.
- Attempt to disrupt, probe or gain unauthorised access to the service.
- Use the service for anything unlawful.
Content and intellectual property
The Circl and its licensors own the platform, its design and its materials. Anything you write and store in your account stays yours; you give us only the permission we need to operate the service for you.
Availability of the service
We work to keep the service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and we do not guarantee that a particular facilitator will be available.
Fees and payment
Paid services are not yet available through this platform. When they are, the fees, what they include and the terms that apply will be shown before you purchase, and cancellation and refund terms will be described in our Refund Policy.
Suspending or closing an account
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms or our Safety Guidelines, or where we consider it necessary to protect members. You may ask us to close your account at any time.
Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and why.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Each publication creates a new version with its own date, and the current version is always the one shown on this page.
Governing law and disputes
Open item. The governing law and the forum for resolving disputes have not been determined and are not stated here.
